Time to slay your dragon
The first step in the Dragonslaying process is called "Summon your dragon". Sounds simple enough but in reality this step is quite complex. You see, before you can slay a dragon you need to answer a few questions like :

1. Is this my dragon to slay? (In other words, why this particular dragon?)
2. What treasures does this dragon protect? (What will my rewards be when I've slain it?)
3. How do I keep my motivation going? (How committed are you?)

If you'd like to find out more about these questions and how to go about answering them, please check out the details in "Dragonslayer - a tale of ancient wisdom for the modern world" available right now as a PDF file - for FREE! You don't get much for free these days, so what are you waiting for?

If you are absolutely certain you have the right dragon, then take the first step and "name" it. Give it a name you'll remember easily. One that flows readily off your tongue. And above all, one that means something to you. When I was writing my first book, I called it my "Big Book Dragon". I even had a graphic of this dragon on a chart in front of my desk. It was big, fierce, spewing fire and breathing smoke! It was a true reflection of how big this task actually was. But it was also my motivation to keep on going - what a wonderful victory it would be to defeat a dragon of this magnitude!

So your turn. Close your eyes and think about this particular dragon. Can you see it's size, shape, texture, the colour of its eyes and the heat of it's breath? This dragon needs to be more than just words on a page - you must be able to see, touch, smell and taste it! You must engage your emotions, because it is only when our emotional self is fully engaged, that we are able to perform unbelievable feats of courage. And never forget - it takes courage to succeed.

I'll leave you with these words while you're getting to know your dragon and choosing a suitable name : "Courage is not a state of fear-less-ness. True courage is feeling the fear, but choosing to continue despite it. " May you, too, find the courage to succeed.

Create your wish list today!
How's that wish list coming along? Is it full? Long? Exciting? Or just plain short and boring? If it's short and boring you need to re-do it whilst letting your imagination go wild! There is no point in having a "wish list" that isn't full of fun, exciting, challenging, wonderful, happy-to-be-alive wishes!

Now to make those wishes come true. All you need is a little faith (in yourself), a little imagination (cause as Einstein said "Imagination is more important than knowledge" and finally you need some elbow grease. No matter how much you dream it, see it, taste it and believe it, it still won't come true till you roll up your sleeves and make it happen!

So are you prepared to do some hard work? As my Dad used to say - "Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy." Isn't that the truth? But just because it's tough and it takes a little commitment, sweat and maybe even tears, it shouldn't scare you off. Hard work never hurt anyone (except maybe the slaves who built the pyramids for some one else). But that's the point isn't it. They did it because they were forced to.

If you're doing it because you want to, you choose too, you can't think of anything you'd rather be doing - then it never feels as difficult. Commitment has this wonderful way of making the biggest mountains seem just that little bit smaller. A sense of excitement reduces them in size even further. And every successful step you take up that mountain side seems to be easier and easier. It's amazing how success always breeds success!

So cast your eye over that wish list of yours and pick a wish. Yep! Easy as that. Pick any one of them you'd like to start working on right now. Doesn't matter which one it is - they are all equally worthy of your attention. Some are big and will take a little longer. Some are smaller and can be accomplished earlier. It's up to you to decide which one you want to start work on at this moment in your life.

But bear in mind that whichever one you choose, you must be prepared to commit to it's achievement 100%. No half measures. No luke-warm focus. You need to be sizzling with focus, attention, commitment and energy. If you aren't - either pick another wish or check out your attitude. Whatever is holding you back now, will only get bigger and uglier as you go along. So deal with it now, because these things never go away of their own accord.

OK. You have a wish picked? It's in your heart and mind? It's worthy of your time, effort and energy? If the answering is a resounding "YES" then let's get started.

Tomorrow I'll take you through the next step on your dragon slaying quest. Be ready with paper and pen in hand, and a whole lot of excess energy - because you're going to need it.

In the meantime, just keep picturing yourself having already achieved that wish. Keep that picture clearly in mind till tomorrow. See you then!
